Ok, she is 18 months, so she is still a juvenile, and until last week she was extremely nice and harmless (she is much tamed). All of a sudden she starts being quite aggressive: she bites when you enter her habitat, she sometimes lunges at you when you pass it (especially in the evening). I am puzzled: I handle her every day, right now she is sitting on my shoulder while I am typing this question, she lets me feed her, etc. Where is this aggressive behavior coming from? Is this just a teenage rebellion?

As alot of other people have already said your iguana has become aggressive towards you. It could be for a number of reasons. It could be her mating season when they will be more hostile, maybe you changed something she didn't like, or she is just having a bad day lol. My suggestion is that you spend as much as you possibly can with her to show her that you are not afraid of her and she will back down and give up. If she knows that you are afraid, she will continue and it can get much worse. An iguana will not attack you unless they feel threatened so something ticked her off and that is why she is doing this. I hope this little bit of info helped. Best of luck!!!

Iguanas are aggressive sometimes it is part of their nature, it will probably start whipping you with its tail soon and that is what really hurts but most iguanas get over it in a while. I have owned two iguanas in my life and they both did this all the people i have talked to said theirs did thesaame thing too.

They tend to be a bit territorial in their habitats. Also they will seriously act out if they feel threatened and lets face it...you are a predator in their eyes. Try offering food as you approach, you will be less threatening that way and will help build trust by forcing her to approach you willingly for the yummy food you are offering. Good luck!

She is just acting out. Give her lots of attention and offer her treats when you handle her. She needs to feel safe. Good Luck
