The rules and requirements are listed at the website attached. Get a HS diploma and go on to college, exercise and tone your body, and study dance.

Good luck!

Look through your TV listings and find the show with the word cheer in it. There is an entire show about being a serious cheer leader and being a professional cheerleader and how hard that is versus how incredibly hard it is to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. These people work as hard as people who act on Broadway, or excel at anything. Whenever you wonder how hard anything is, look at how many people have gone from that to another level like dancing professionally. Many famous entertainers started as cheerleaders. The split thingy, as you put it, is just the start. You really need to be a combo near professional dancer first and foremost. It is a serious and time consuming venture. But if you have the talent and the desire ANYTHING is possible. The most rewarding ventures will not be the easiest. If you want easy then do something else. GODSPEED and Good Luck.

Work out, work out, work out!

Also, do you get the NFL channel? They have a series about what all of the competitors go through in the try-outs. It's HARD!!! They work their tushes off, and they're criticized for the oddest things.

Most of the time, they don't have to do the splits. I would certainly recommend that you take as many dance classes as possible, so that you understand the many different steps that you'd be required to do as a cheerleader. If you have a chance at school, join the dance line...What the professionals do is very different from what high school or even college cheerleaders do.

And, when you have the chance, work out in front of the mirror. Practice smiling, 'cause you'll need to learn how to be in excruciating pain and not look like it!

Good luck! :)

Cowboy cheerleaders are the first-class of the excellent, however should you did not make the squad, you would constantly be an NFL cheerleader for the Eagles, so long as you bathe once every week and are inclined to put on shoes.
