Funny, I was just thinking about the history of underwear. Up until the time hoop skirts were popular, women worn no underpants at all. Petticoats, yes, knickers no. You'll recall from watching "The King and I" that hoop skirts can fly up most inconveniently, thereby showing more nether region that Brittany Spears. And thus pantaloons were born.

And, strangely enough, the bra was invented by a man.
