I'm exhausted throught the day, i yawn and frequently lie my head down, but when it comes time to actually sleep, i have trouble falling asleep (often i feel energized and gittery) also on the rare occasion i do fall asleep, i don't stay asleep, I often wake up 2-4 hours later and once again have difficulty getting back to sleep. After sleep i almost never feel energized. I try to stay away from caffinated but lately i feel the need to rely on them to make it through the day. I'm in my late teens and have never had this problem until recently. If any one has any suggestions, please enlighten me!!

Have you tried Unisom? I love it. It helps you get to sleep within 30 minutes and sleep soundly for 8 hours. Try it! Good Luck!

I used to get by on 45 minutes of sleep a night when I was in high school, so I think I had the same problem. Are you an active person? Exercise can help you sleep. Set your alarm clocks and hide them from view so you don't worry yourself thinking about how late it is and how you SHOULD be sleeping.

This could also be because teenagers still have melatonin imbalance. Most teenagers I know have sleeping problems, too, in varying degrees. If it gets unbearable, a doctor can prescribe you some sleeping pills that aren't meant to be long-term. Over-the-counter pills are also available, but after a while they're pretty useless, too.

Hope this helps,

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Go to bed at the same time every night. No caffeine. Exercise during the day. Do you feel depressed? Depression can also cause sleeplessness.
