Does the character of a man actually matter to a woman?

Question

I'm looking for serious answers here. Nothing along the lines of "duh" or "of course".

I'm just wondering, because I haven't been able to find a woman who thinks that it's important for a man to live his life with integrity. Most women that I know think that it's great when a man is unfaithful, lazy, bullying, and dishonest in general. They view him as being a "bad boy" who has "edge" and is a "challenge".

On the other hand, a man who is confident, mentally and physically healthy, a community leader, intelligent, romantic, honest, and would be a devoted husband and father, is seen as "boring" and "too nice".

Why is this? Do these women have low self-esteem and think that they don't deserve better . . . or, do men of integrity have to start being losers in order for women to appreciate them?

The women who like these men are on a mission to change them. In the end they get their heart broken because he wouldn't change when all along that's exactly what she thought she could do. Most women don't realize until it's too late that they cannot change a man. Women like that have little to no self-respect. Being a former bad boy lover, I wish I knew then what I know now. As awful as it was, I certainly did learn a lot. Now, I know what I want, a man like you have described, it is very difficult to find one. I feel as though I have been tarnish by my time with the bad boy. I would love to find someone to read in bed with me, rather than tell me to turn off the light. Go out once in a while but; mostly hang around the house and just enjoy each other. How I long to be respected for the woman I am by a man who deserves the same respect in return. I answered a very similar question just yesterday, which leads me to believe that many men must think that women only want the "bad boy". Nothing could be further from the truth. True enough, some women seem to enjoy being mistreated, but believe you me, you treat a real woman with dignity, respect and genuine affection and she will be yours forever. Two years ago I met a man who is moral, highly intelligent, ethical to a fault, kind, generous, romantic, affectionate...I could go on and on. But the one place I won't go is away from him. Having lived for 20 years in a relationship where I did NOT matter one bit, I'm in hog heaven with this man. It just occurred to me that I might be answering to the same person, I didn't check. If I did, perhaps you'll forgive me for the deja-vu.

DEFINITELY -- the character of any man (Integrity, Honesty, Dignity, willingness to treat a partner in life with RESPECT for her as a human being), that is all very IMPORTANT in the choice of any spouse.

Girls who think that guys like that are good (the bad boy type) are just the same their the ones who are bad girls. the women who appreceate good boys are good girls(usually) sounds like you are going to the wrong place to find girls. Try at a church/ religous place, charity event, or something like that. of course we dont want to be cheated on . thats just stupid. a dishonest guy tends to attract a dishonest girl. all girls want to be appreaciated and given flowers and knocked off her feet.

I finally got my man with integrity and I love him to pieces. He is very intelligent, very romantic, very honest and very funny. Loves my kids, and loves his family as well as mine. It took along time to find him, but it was worth the wait! :)

Don't give up on finding the woman you can truly love and have a connection with. Its rare but when it happens its magical.
