Ok, I just got my drivers license in April. My dad bought me an 86 Mustang for $500. first we got a new battery for $40 then replaced the brakes for $150 then replaced all the tires for about $100 then replaced the valve cover gasket for $100 then got a new exhaust system for $100 then got all new spark plugs, spark plug wires and a new distributor for about $140. It cost $100 to register and $50 a month for liability insurance. Whew!
I'm a two-car man. Last month I bought a 92 Cavalier for $60. S-I-X-T-Y. I paid $27 to register it and $30 a month to insure it. I haven't done any repairs to it. Am I the only one who sees irony in this?

Actually no, it's not funny. you got RIPPED off on that cavalier. in perfect working show room factory condition with no miles a 92 Cavalier is worth $200 a mustang however, well it's a MUSTANG a non running piece O-Heap nedds lots of work averages $500 so for overall cost you got a good price on the mustang ESPECIALLY if it's a 5.0. As for registration and insurance purposes, you need to realize 2 things. insurance and registration will cost more because a Mustang is a sports car. A 92 Cavalier is well a grandma car.

Oh yea! You're obviously way smarter than your old man! When you get ready to leave on that cross country trip I would definitely drive the Cavalier! The bonus is...chicks really love Cavaliers!

Ha! I would still rather have a broken Mustang than a running Cavalier.

The irony is your an ungrateful punk. Your dad should have kept his money instead of trying to make sure you had a dependable ride.
