Why doesnt the femmenist movement take constructive cristism well?

Before we anilate my character which is coming .i will state for the record i am a democrat , straight but not narrow , if gays and lesbians want to get married i have no problem with that , i am prochoice .

We got that out of the way .I dont deny there are flamebaiting trolls in these forums .I also believe that there are many men who have valid critisism of some aspects and some personalties associated with the womens movement.

What i percieve is demagogory on the scale of the national rifle associtaion .Infact i dont lnow which is more demagogic the N.R.A. or N.O.W. .Either organzition can do no wrong . All who disagree with some aspects of each organzitions are considered enemys . The next time a male friend reasonablly brings constructive critism listen not only with your ears but your heart as well.

i knew the side stepping argments were coming . "do you think the womens movement should exist " YES I DO !!However the womens movement needs to be able to take constructive critism and i do not percieve that they are willing to do do that .Seroiusly if i posted that , im a democrate , prochoice , straight but not narrow do you think i question the right of the womens movement to exist ?

You see some people in the femmensit movement do not want to admit to even the possibity that they might have made mistakes .

I wouldn't say that I have given this issue much though. But it's definately an issue which will get a few fiery comments. Maybe.

But I don't want them directed at me, so I'll shoosh my moosh.

Don't get me wrong, I am strongly for the femmenst movement and everything it stands for, all the best to them.

But sometimes people just need to be open to critisism, learn from it, and get on with the mission.

I understand that some men may feel marginalized when it comes to the feminist movement, and I can understand the need for cooperation between the sexes when it comes to tackling gender issues and sex-stereotyping issues. I don't, however, think that your question quite gets the spirit of the Women's movement .... we're attempting to get away from the type of male-centric thought that puts male issues before female issues. Men have been favored by the law, the church, and by society for a looong time. The Women's movement tries to put female issues front and center: is this what you take issue to? Do you want to ask feminists to tone it down a bit? Frankly, I don't think that's your right. Of course you're allowed to voice your opinion - but don't get angry if a feminist woman doesn't agree with you .... she might see your 'reasonabl[e] constructive criticism' as encroaching upon her own rights ... But, anyways - you'll have to be a bit more specific about the nature of your criticism before I can make a value judgement here....

If you're insinuating that the women's movement is just a bunch of rabble-rousers, then that's not very constructive criticism. In fact you regard the movement as demagogic, then you're plainly putting them down as though they don't have a right to do what they feel is right. Perhaps that's why the women you speak of don't take to your type of criticism too kindly.

Do you think the women's movement should not exist? If so, why?

Would you rather women were subhuman and submissive towards your little tantrums? :-) Truthfully, you might find a few "bobble-heads" in here who might agree with you.

I'm not American, but reading a few articles on N.O.W., i believe they make a lot of sense to be fighting for the rights of others instead of sitting idly by and simply watching.

Okay, how about this: You tell us what your criticisms are, and we'll tell you how constructive we feel they are. No offense, but YOU are skirting the issue by saying we "don't accept constructive criticism" and not getting right to the point. OUT WITH IT, ALREADY! We'd love to hear from you.
