There are a few,the problem is the game is changing,unless a tackle is 100% clean,its a booking.I'm afraid the great players you mention above would never complete a game.

Oh we had Razor and our all time best hard man was "go get them Joe" - Joe Jordon, he used to take his teeth out when someone really pissed him off, and everyone knew he was then on a mission to chop that oponent down.

the diving is getting quite annoying, but the EPL is full of tough-minded, aggressive athletes. the players today are faster, stronger and just as aggressive as EPL players a mere 10-15 years ago.
