This assumes downhill skis, not telemark, CC, etc:

Based on the information you supplied, you could use 150cm or perhaps 155 cm skis, longer if you are an aggressive skier.

Your skill level has a lot to do with chosen length.

Shaped/parabolic skis are usually shorter.

The advice to sit down with a competent tech is very sound.

I prefer to pay a bit more when renting, and demo different kinds of skis. In some cases, money spent on rentals can be applied to a purchase on a demo.

It is determined by your height. If you are buying them the salesperson should be able to help you pick out the correct size for you, same thing when renting them, the ski pro should be able to hook you up.

Are you talking about cross country, racing or touring ski's. Are you talking about downhill or mogel skis???

The length of your ski's should be approx. how tall you are.
