A BIOS or Basic Input Output systems deals with mostly the Input and output aspects of the PC. Meaning it holds the code's for using your Keyboard, Display screen, disk drives, and serial communications. It also deals with a lot of smaller less seen operations that deal with using a PC. I'm almost positive this is correct and if not someone feel free to step on my toes.
