I go to ut and my hometown is in a small town just north of Temple and I make the drive about every two weeks. As the previous person said, its about an hour north of austin. With traffic or construction it could take a lot longer. If you leave in the evening, try to leave around 6 or 7 to hopefully miss the rush hour traffic and the construction. Just be sure to have some good tunes and a tank full of gas to be prepared for anything.

An hour's drive, if traffic isn't bad. If you go during rush hour, especially in the afternoon, expect delays all the way through Georgetown.
