You don't need a professional if you know how to reinstall your O/S yourself. The virus wiped out some files you had. You need to assess the situation and figure out what is actually not working and turn on your night light and go to work figuring out which software packages are in need of attention from upgrades off the O/S internet source to software you downloaded and will need to reinstall.
A technician can only do as much as you already did. And charge you for it. You can do one of two things. If you think you did not get a clean install and all the stuff you want to save is cleaned of the virus; save the files and downloaded stuff you have to Disks, or some other safe place.
The other thing is, only if you are really concerned you did not get a good restore, You will need to reformat the hard drive and reinstall from the OEM O/s and then do just what you were before you asked for help.
Since I don't have specifics about your computer I can not tell you much else. Model, CPU, RAM, CD or CD-R or RW, DVD-R or RW, Boot from hard drive or CD or 3 1/2 Floppy drive etc. You probably are at the point where even a technician would sure charge you for doing the reinstall and then you would have to turn on the night light, etc., and so on.

It's NOT your OS you probably haven't installed drivers for a)motherboard b)soundcard and any other peripherals you may have. A virus will not linger on if you have reformatted your drive and reinstalled OS.

You should have formatted the hard disk and then re-installed the OS. Your problems of virus would no longer exist.

if you have already installed the OS, why pay someone to do it again? check your software, you may have to reinstall some of the things that are not working.

Pay?
I'd do it for $10.
If I were in Britain.
If I were near your computer.
If...
Ok.
I'd say 25.27 pounds.
