about a year ago in school canteen you couldnt count the number of whaletails at lunch time but now they are no more, have we finally realized that thongs are crap!

I don't think so. I asked a friend of mine who works at Frederick's of Hollywood and she told me... "no way are they dead!" They sell almost as much as they did 5-7 year ago.
I think that two things have happened. First, Jean came before the low rise jeans. When those jeans came out, girls were wearing them with regular thongs and that is why there were so many whale tails around. After a while, fashion designers wised up and designed the low rise thong. Making it easier to hide the thong under those low rise jeans.
The second thing is that I think that girls ran to the store to buy thongs because they were the hottest thing around in women's underwear in many years. hat fever has gone done now, most women who are realizing that thongs are great but that they can vary the type of underwear they wear based on their mood any given day or moment.
I have a feeing that sales of thongs for girls are slowing some what, but thongs for guys sales are claiming slowly.

Thongs r hella sexy, but its gotta b n the rite situation. For instance a gurl chillin at a bar or somethin or out 2 eat and shes jus chillin and u c her thong, that rite there can b a lil uncomfortable. Now if ur at a club or sumthin and a gurl iz dance'n and u c a lil thong then that can b sexy. Needless 2 say ima HUGE FAN OF THE THONG!

Now a days we are wearing thongs less and less. However you will still girls that still wear them depending on they are wearing and its better to wear one rather than going comando, as that would be a tad cold. Thongs were a fashion trend, that came and went, give it a few years they will be back

No thongs are still in. But most people these days finally realized its trashy for girls to have thier thongs poppin out of their pants. I personally find boyshorts a lot sexier.

I just bought some! Maybe SHOWING your thong is out but I don't think wearing people will stop wearing them because they are out. I wear them because I think they are comfortable. I never showed them on purpose anyhow, I think that's tacky unless you have a REALLY GREAT figure!

I still love my thongs and g-strings, but I think the new trend is those low rise boyshorts that are styled like men's tighty-whitey's

I don't think thongs are out. I wear thongs but am starting to wear more and more g-strings.

I have a drawer full of thongs, I just don't choose to let everyone see them...maybe women are just being more discrimating about showing their underwear!
