I think it's not because of the foreigners but because some players think it's the only way to win the game, just like what C Ronaldo got on his mind everytime he's on the pitch.
Foreign players in each league bring the leagues more interesting to watch. If all the players are from the same country what's the different with National Team? When Wenger was criticised about having 11 foreign players in Arsenal he simply said, 'I'm managing Arsenal FC not England National Squad'!

Disagree. There were less diving everywhere in the world where footie was played, not only in Britain. The British may be the 'most sporting' of people but when it comes to competition, "sportsmanship" is lost. Winning is everything!

its not just the foreign players who do it, and its become an epidemic. this kind of thing is happening far too often in a lot of sports nowadays. its shows a decline in the quality of officiating because if they wouldnt call fouls on obvious dives, the players wouldnt dive anymore. the good thing about this decline is that once it becomes a real problem, they will make changes to address it. look at american sports like baseball or football where steroids are starting to become a real problem. people are slowly figuring out ways to fix it, because diving and getting false calls is the same thing as taking steroids. they are both cheating and making the game less fun to watch.

No, it's just not foreign players who dive, the game is being played that way to get advantages in the game, in the 80's they played with more heart and less fear, even if they were bumped they still tried to make the play happen instead of trying to get a cheap call.....

Yes.
A lot of people think winning at sport validates them. This is because they are insecure.
The British have the opposite problem, and get called smug and arrogant because of it.
The 'win at all costs' attitude doesn't apply to sport, if you are British.
The new era of Clubs as companies (ie. increased professionalism) should also take some blame.

i remember watching a chelsea v liverpool 5th round cup tie in the early 80,s with chelsea leading 1-0 at the time & kenny dalglish was falling down all over the place trying to cheat liverpool back into the match....thankfully, the ref was havin none of it...& by the way, chelsea were half way up the old div 2 then & went on to win the match 2-0...liverpool hadnt lost any match since the september of that season when they were beaten by ipswich...the goalscorers that day were peter rhoades-brown & colin lee...anybody remember them...

all the soccer players in the world, could be sponsored by the butter shoe foundation or the margerine council for slips trips and falls.
or they could just want to kiss the ground that a 'Z' list celeb once walked on.
anything is a possibly.
