Since there is Avogadros number (6.02 x 10^23) atoms in a mole, you have 2 atoms of H per mole, so 2 x (6.02 x 10^23)

12.04 x 10^23

Since each molecule of formaldehyde has 2 hydrogen atoms in it, then one mole of formaldehyde would have 2 moles of hydrogen atoms.

By looking at the formula, you can always determine the ratios of the atoms that make up the molecule. For H2CO, each molecule has 2 hydrogen atoms, 1 carbon atom and one oxyygen atom.

If you're considering moles, one mole of formaldehyde will have 1 mole of carbon, one mole of oxygen and 2 moles of hydrogen.

Two moles. A mole is a "gram molecular weight" of a compound or element. A mole of H2 contains two moles of elemental hydrogen, or one mole of molecular hydrogen, for a weight of two grams (about) . A mole of water contains two moles of hydrogen (elemental, total two grams) and one mole of oxygen (weight 16 grams), for a total of 18 grams per mole. Add a carbon atom, you have H2CO, containing two moles of hydrogen, a mole of carbon, and a mole of oxygen, for a total of 2 grams (hydrogen), 12 (one mole of carbon), and 16 (one mole of oxygen, for a total 30 grams. Two moles of anything contain 2 X Avogadro's number of atoms, or 1.204X 10^24 atoms (or molecules).
