I know the media wants to show the kind ape. But how is it in nature? Serious question. And since I didn't find one answer on yahoo.

Science has shown that all primates have a violent tendancy towards it's own species! In the Amazon, there is a study of chimp's that gang up together to kill one chimp. All primates have also been recorded as being cannibal when put into stressfull situations such as drought, famine, loss of territory, etc. But technically, no, just omnivores that eat both foliage and meat, which gives them the lea-way to become cannibal.

That Neanderthals were cannibals is debatable. The bone cuts are more indicative of a burial custom called " flesh stripping ", a method that has been used by some peoples to prepare the dead for burial

I do not know any cannibal primate other than human. The rest of them are either omnivores, like Chimps, or strictly vegetarians, like Gorillas

yes chimps can be cannibalistic those are the only ones i know of but theres probly more

under many coditions, many primate species will eat other primates (including humans)
