When Lil Wayne officially coined the phrase he was referring to a woman dancing....he originally said "after you back it up then stop, wh..wh..wh..wh..at drop it like its hot.

Drop It Like Its Hot is a **** song for bass, it is slow bass, it doesn't go deep, and it isn't the focus of the song either so it is is quiet in the mix and doesn't come out all that loud on the subs.
