Diamonds are the hardest type of mineral/rock. Nothing can scratch it. If you try to scratch a cz with a rough rock or something sharp, chances are there will be a scratch mark on it.

If you see the backside of the diamond you will notice small dirt like black spots which will not be visible on the upper side of the cut diamond. Only pure diamonds have this. This is how you can distinguish pure from cz.

Diamond cuts through glass, CZ does not.

the easy way is to put then in water , diamond will sumerge to the bottom , CZ will Float , as water`s density is more then the Density of CZ ..
try it out ....
