Yes they will but you should consult an attorney. They have a set fee that is set by your state and this way you know that you are going to be taken care of today and for years to come. Don't trust the work comp people. They are corupt corporate money chaser. They don't care about the long haul, just the bottom line. I have trusted the work comp people and found out the hard way. good luck

Hi Lisa M. U say u hurt ur knee at work? and you want to know if you will get a cash lump settlement at the end of the operation. Well this depends on a few things. First of all, you have to decide if you want to take the case to a 'no win no fee' solicitor, then if you do decide this is what you want to do, u have to give the solicitor all the details of the incident. Things such as: How exactly did u get hurt, what were the circumstances like, (if u decide to take this course of action, ur solicitor will take u through al the right channels) Then ur solicitor will probably write to ur bosses and ask them for an out of court settlement (cash lump sum) however, if ur bosses refuse,u then have to make the decision of weather or not to sue ur boss, for negligence. If you do, it will most likely go through the high courts. Just make sure that you don't end up losing your job. Best of luck. Cazzie -x-

If your able to return back to your work, no, they will not pay you a lump sum. The lump sum is only if the injury is too bad that you lost your employment from the injury. Then they only pay you up to a certain point. This is based on your earnings. If you make 10 dollars an hour they figure that over 20 yrs until retirement from that position and that will be the gross of your lump sum.

I don't know about the lump sum.
But try this before the surgery. Get one of the hinged Velcro knee braces. It wraps below the knee and above the knee, and the steel hinge keeps your weight off the knee. It totally repaired my knee in a very short time. In the US it was $59.00 at a pharmacy that sells medical equipment. But in two days my pain and swelling was gone, after about three months I haven't had to wear it again. It allows the tissues to heal.
The elastic ones just squeeze all the tissue and make it feel worse.
Try this before the surgery.

YES - BUT make sure that if there are any complications down the road--because knee injuries are often easy to injure again, that they will take care of any issues with it in the future, they don't want to offer that and hope you aren't smart enough to demand it. That knee, unless you are young and still growing, will never be "good as new" no matter what the worker's comp people claim, they are given an incentive to screw claimants out of as much money as possible just the same as private insurance company claim adjusters.

I think they will pay for all the medical bills and lost time of work, but they won't give you a settlement unless you sue the company. If you are unable to work for the rest of your life, they will pay you what you earned for a long time, but they won't say "I am sorry here is an x amount of money to ease your pain". They will pay anything bills obtained by this injury and only if you filled out an accident report. It also depends if they have you do an employee return to work sheet that needs to be filed out by the doctor. They will need to fill it out on what restrictions you have and length of time off. At least that is what it is like in Wisconsin. I think you have done everything you could do. Good luck!

Knee joint replacement surgery has become very common nowadays. My cousin also got her hip replacement surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She is totally pain free now. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as all joint surgery is not covered by insurance in USA or by NHS in the UK. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
Many patients travel from United States of America and UK to get low cost surgery in India. Indian corporate hospitals are comparable to hospitals anywhere in the world. In fact, India has medical facilities that are comparable with the USA, UK and Canada. India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best medical experts.
