I will never support this issue. I believe we have the right to bare arms incase our government gets to powerful. The only thing a government fears is an intelligent armed population.

So goosteppin, what you are saying is since the government is bigger than us since we should just submit to it and become slaves to what ever agenda is passed?

No, I don't support gun control. Americans have a right to arm themselves and a duty to use those arms in case our government ever oppresses us. So, I'm fully supportive of the second amendment - it seems pretty clear: "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

I don't support gun control either. We actually have very strict laws in obtaining guns. There are alot of people who don't qualify for guns through the ATF/FBI, contrary to certain belief, not everybody can get their hands on a gun in America. If you took that right away from us, it would be worse because criminals would still have guns and we wouldn't be able to defend our self. Yes, the right to bear arms was written for that very fact if the government gets too powerful.

I pretty much believe as you do. There is one gun control law I support.

Every time a gun changes hands, it should be run through an instant background check to see if the recipient is a criminals or has a history of mental instability. Other than that, I'm pretty much good with almost anything else.

No, but only because I have a very bad temper. Seriously, they say the bads guys can always get their hands on guns so they are only taking away the good guys rights away. You should be able to buy firearms but there should be forms, waiting periods and classes on how to use them and how to keep it locked away so no one gets hurt. And I think you should get a mandatory 20 years anytime you commit a crime with a weapon.

I only support background checks to see if criminals don't get guns. I'm anti-gun control and is our constitutional right to bear arms.

Gun control is violating the 2nd amendment, and is therefore wrong, and illegal. The ages old argument sounds trite, but it is true that if guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.

"An unarmed citizen is not a citizen, he is a subject."
-Thomas Jefferson
"Those who would trade liberty for their security deserve neither."
-Benjamin Franklin.

I am a gun owning liberal, and I know many like me. I do believe in waiting period, criminal background checks though.

I remember this quote from a Lawyer when asked about gun control.

"How can I trust my government if they won't trust me with guns"

gun control is hitting what you aim at. not everyone should have a gun. just like some people shouldn't have kids. a man's got to know his limit.
