Oscar Robertson. These young folks don't remember or appreciate him. The game then didn't allow palming, traveling and flagrant fouls.

Wego is right. Today's players travel and palm the ball. That allows them to make moves that previous players could not.
Robertson, Baylor, West, Chamberlin, and many others were just as good as the players of the last 20 years. I'd like to see Iverson play if they enforced palming the ball , and Jordan if they enforced traveling.
I can't believe that all you folks think that the best basketball players were all in the last few years.

i don't mean to be racist, but lets be honest we can't really compare a black man and a white man as far as athleticism goes. So I'd say the best black man to play the game was Jordan, and the best white man was Bird. Look at their games, Jordan could run and jump, bird could shoot the lights out, not to say that Jordan couldn't shoot but i think most of as remember him as more of an athletic player, where Bird we think of just saviness, and winning ability, not necessarily athletic talent.
