⥠Wow, what a awe-inspiring question !â¥
⥠However, I think Beckham is the most popular within the soccer world, but I do not think he is the strongest player. Pele is my chosen favorite. I absolutely adore Podolski and Klose on the German team. <-- although they really are Polish, but I'll let that little detail slid.
â¥Since I am from America I idolize only a few players on the U.S. team, including Twellman, McBride, who could forget the strongest player Donovan, and also mentioned is Freddi Adu, (However, I think he is playing for an English league now)
⥠There's quite a few Ronaldos (spelled correctly?) out there, but the Brazilian Ronaldo along with the Portuguese Ronaldo are talented players in the World Cup this year!
â¥KaaKaa is brilliant. I mean it is all so hard to characterize the very best player. It requires talent that's for sure. And every player, whether we soccer fans realize it or not, is just as worthy in receiving respect.
⥠Zidane, unfortuantely, does not show that touch of class, as shown with that head-butting this year! But he is still phenomenol within the field
⥠In conclusion, All the above criterion adjoins to what I would like to say about the Soccer players who had influenced and inspired the hopes and dreams of other people including Maradona!

If you consider only World Cup, then ZZ or Ronaldo.
But some other players really shined in their clubs, besides the World Cup.
Say like Franz Beckenbauer or Johan Cruyff
