I couldnt imagine being racist towards anybody, its rude and unthoughtful, but still every once in a while i get called a "cracker" by others, i dont really take offense to it, but I was wondering if anybody else does? and not just cracker but all other racist remarks, how do you often take it? ive got respect for everyone, so why does so much hatred go on? because i know it goes both ways.

The blacks would have to come up with something far more offensive than "cracker" for me to be upset. I think I am self-assured enough, and can see who I am, as opposed to who the person is calling the names to decide which of us is a better looking, more intelligent and a better person. The famous Mfuk*r is so over used now, and most white don't screw their mothers, so it's difficult to relate. Maybe those using that term have more first person experience with that particular act of "friendliness".

But, I think if one group thinks it can sling "mud" without getting some on themselves, they may be in for a surprise. Is "cracker" more or less the same as N I G G E R would be if we called a black by a racial slur??? IS one worse than the other? They probably are all about the same, a wise person knows themselves and let the slurs flow off like water from a duck. If you look who usually is calling names, they don't have much that I am jealous of. I wonder what THEIR problem is.

I'm fairly hard to offend personally. Though, I find some things to be generally offensive, like the use of the word "cracker."

It's exactly the equivalent of the "N" word (see, most white people can't even bring themselves to use the word), so if black people don't want to be called that, then they should stop calling us Crackers.

Yes, I get offended, because I know the intention behind it.
It's a racial insult, just like any other. It's not somehow OK, just because it's directed at whites.

It doesn't offend me at all. If it did I would be giving up my own personal power to the one who called me the name. What's so bad about being a cracker anyway? I like crackers. They're yummy. I don't care about "honkey" either. That one's funny! No idea what it means!

If they're just joking, I wouldn't get really mad. But I do think it would be best if we could forget both the C word and the N word completely. We have plenty of better, funnier names to call our friends. =p

No. I'm gay. I've heard it all and more, and I still keep hearing it right on Y/A. It's pretty difficult to shock me.
