i had a 2000 S-10 with the 4.3 V6 2wd. It was a pretty good ride, engine was very powerful but drove like crap in the snow. My older one had the 2.8 V6 and that engine was a dog, avoid those if at all possible.

I had a '91 S10 Blazer 4wd and loved it. They will last a good while as long as you take care of them. Mine was a 4.3 V6, but not a Vortec. I'm pretty sure the 2000 has the Vortec, which has plenty of power for daily driving. There were a lot on the road, so used S10's should be super cheap by now.

Depends on what the S-10 has for a set-up all around. I like fast vehicles so I would look for one with the 350 V-8 that can be chipped, but over-all they are not bad little trucks.

i dont like them, especially the 4 wheel drive.i just helped change the dog bone on the transfer case,oh my what a job.we had to strip the front end and take out the transfer case because the dog bone is made on it.they are peobably not a bad running truck,if you dont have to work on them.when i buy a truck,i want a truck where i can haul something in.
