It's usually best to decipher what kind of person you are dealing with. If you don't know them that could be hard, so you are best to offer condolences and move along. If it's someone you know, you need to choose based on their mood. If they are known to get beligerent, give them plenty of time to cool off and think. Often times, people speak without thinking when they are mad. If they are upset or angry and generally kind of quiet or reserved, it's good to ask them what the problem is, or if it's at your own fault then apologize and see if there is anything you can do to help. If they turn it down though, don't worry. Some people don't want to be nagged over their emotions and will tell you when they feel it is appropriate.

You go through the following steps, and you'll think I am Jesus.

1. Find a comfortable silent place at home, like your bed.
2. Sit on it, and breath deeply for three times, inhale/exhale.
4. Close your eyes, and try to relax all parts of your body conciously.
5. Let all the angry thoughts that rush into you flow off your mind by thinking about forgiveness to the people who you think caused this.
6. Think about nothing, nothingness. It will feel like your mind is empty and full at the same time, but you will feel very good. Prolong this state as much as you will totally recover your mood :)

Learn to really listen. Hearing is not listening. Listening includes being perceptive, trying to understand and trying to be on the same wave length with the person who you should listen to.

Another good deed would be to jjust give candy :)

Let them be. They are untitled to their feelings. If you are uncomfortable with how they are feeling you should leave. Unless you're really well trained to help them through leave them alone.
