I do too, and I really don't know why me or other people do it.
I'm trying to get out of the habit and sound more intelligent.
anyway, do you think it's a girl thing? bcuz I'm not a girl and I'm scared people might think I'm gay (which I am not).

I don't think it's just a girl thing. I know plenty of guys who say "like" a lot.
I always say it, and the more I try not to say it, the more it slips out.

No, I think you are ok. Everyone says it. It's kinda like saying pretty all the time. When I lived in Nicaragua, they said english was very hard because we say things such as:
Pretty good, pretty neat, pretty hungry
Why do we do that? Who thought of such nonsense? Blasted.

It's definitely not a girl thing...I hear guys say it all the time, and they don't sound gay at all.

I don't know like i say like "like" all the time and to me it like sounds like a girl thing. Whenever my brother says like it like makes him sound gay so i would like try to get rid of the habit. What i do is instead of saying like, pause. They say when you say "like and umm" then your thinking, so pause instead.

yes here in australia ppl say it whole lot too.and its annoying..i wouldnt say ur gay cause of it.but if u are conscious of it .u should try cutting it out

everyone here in canada says it too, im really bad for that.
i think its just an aspect of modern American/Canadian teenagers.
