My husband and I have been married for 29 years. Some things we have learned through the years are "let the small stuff go, focus on the good, and ignore anything that isn't go to make a difference in our retirement years". Your husband's boss was acting like a jerk. Obviously your husband likes letting people know he is just married or he would have washed the words of his truck. Your husband is in an awkward position and it is not probably in his best interest to make a big deal out of this comment from his boss. Support your husband in the way he feels he needs to handle this (or not handle it as the case may be). As long as you know your husband doesn't feel this way, then let it go. It isn't important in the grand scheme of your married life. You'll face many more serious situations than this as the years go by.

I think your husband was probably just blowing him off because he's his boss. I would have still been sooo mad .... my husband would have said something to the boss ... but, my husband is VERY outspoken....and maybe yours isn't put together that way.... and didn't want to step on his boss' toes. The boss just sounds like a "pig" and was just running his mouth. Any man that wants to keep the "just married" on the back of the truck can't be bad...he loves you ...and I'm sure he doesn't think the same as his boss. Congrats.... on the new marriage.. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

No you are not wrong if that were me I would have taken my bosses head off he has no right to say something like that and he is disrespecting you at the same time. I would have said excuse me my wife is the best women in the world and just because you
may be a cheating hounddog that is not me. Really if this is your husbands response I would be very concerned that he is thinking of cheating on you or has done it to his past GF's or to you already. Really only a pig would agree to to someone saying that.
I guess what he said it being sentimental and all must have been a bunch of crap. He may have also responded this way so his boss wouldn't ridicule him for loving and cherishing you some guys are just asses ask him why he didn't get mad or offended.

He is your husband's boss so he probably did the right thing by not saying much. If it bothers you, talk with your husband. The fact that he wanted to keep the just married sign on the car says a lot. You should be proud that he takes pride in being married.

Yes, you are wrong. Your husband works for his boss for money. He doesn't care about his boss's religion, morals, taste in fashion, or his opinions on world politics. Hubby wants the paycheck. He would be stupid to disagree with the boss about the message. He didn't agree, just acknowledged the comment. Yes, the boss isn't a very good person. But, that doesn't matter. You and your husband aren't his conscience, and shouldn't worry about his ideas, as long as the checks keep feeding your family.

I think it's sweet of your hubby to want to leave the just married on there... as for the boss and his comment... your hubby is not responible for things that come out of other ppls mouth. He is your HUBBY"S BOSS... maybe in that situation thats all he could say...I'd pass it off as a stupid comment made from a 100% JERK!! and let it go. Sugar long as you know where your hubby's boots are each nite... what difference does it make what other ppl say? Forget it and go enjoy your new Hubby...make him happy he is married to you... best wishes from a long married lady...

The boss's comment was inappropriate and illegal. It's up to your husband how much he wants to push the issue, but technically it's sexual harassment, not to mention just being in poor taste.
Good for your husband for being proud of his marriage, though. Looks like you have a keeper.

It sounds to me like normal guy talk. I respond the same way as your husband does when a question/comment such as this is said to me. Don't take his non-reacting personally. If the boss keeps saying things like this, then yes he needs to say something.

The boss sounds like a complete pig. Just ignore the comment, it was chauvinistic, but nothing to make a big deal about.
