My eleven year old daughter wants a box turtle. I went to the pet shop and the lady recommended a salcada tortoise. they are very tiny about 3 or 4 inches. I know it will grow very large but she said it takes years to get that big. she said is low maintenance. I'm looking for lowest maintenance. anyone have one of these kind of pets?

NO turtles and tortoises are low maitenance. They all are very high maitenance animals. Read through the caresheets on this site before getting any turtle. http://austinsturtlepage.com

buy what the pet shop lady said she would love them i no i have the same kind of turtle and they are very gentle suprissingly!
