Prelit, fake tree is a lot less of a pain and more economical as you can use it year after year.
Real may look prettier, smell nicer and be more conventional, but it's a lot of hassle with luggin it on the car, decorating, keeping it alive in the house, disposing of the "carcass" etc

Real tree no contest. If you've ever read the story of the Christmas tree you would agree 100%. The Christmas tree represents the spirit of Christmas and a fake tree is just showing what America is becoming. Recycled bottles and synthetic fibers; how joyous.

The fake tree you can keep for years and doesn't leave a mess all over the floor when the needles start falling off the real one. Plus, for some reason, I just cannot stand the smell of X-mas trees or evergreens of any kind!

When I lived in Oregon, it was always a real tree. Now I live in Chicago and real trees are a lot more expensive, so I've got the lovely fake tree.

A real tree because of the lovely smell, BUT with roots and in a plantpot .. Why?
1. less messy
2. you can keep it outside until next xmas and use it again (if
the pot is not very large the tree won't grow too large either)
3. ever imagined just how many trees are cut down just for
our short term amusement every year all around the world? ;)

I say real because I think they're prettier, but a fake tree isn't as messy... it looks good whenever you put up a bunch of decorations !

Real tree. But I leave it in a container so I can plant in the spring.
