I want to surprise someone in my family with a gift, but they are almost always at home and will open it. I don't really want to open a PO box just for one package and I DO NOT trust any of my friends to have it sent to their house...any ideas?

Some UPS or FedEX places will allow you to ship things to them for pick up. I had to pick up tickets at a FedEX place because I was never going to be home when they were going to come.

Can you ship the package to your work address?

What about parents? Any parents around who can sign for the package and keep it safe?

As for a P.O. Box, it may be that you have to rent it for 6 months. Do you think it's worth it to ship it to a P.O. Box when you are only going to use for a short time? Seems like a waste of money!

Try work and parents....

Perhaps you could organise to pick it up instead of having it posted to you? Or maybe you could speak to your next door neightbour and organise to have it sent to their address? If for example, you are talking about a christmas gift, you could maybe organise to have the item delivered just a day or two before christmas, and ask to have written on the label a message such as " Don't open before Christmas....".
Good Luck

What about having it shipped to your job? Some employers will allow that.
