my sted dad is on SSI and is being sued for back time child support payments and was under the impression given by a former lawyer that he did not have to pay. We live in Alabama by the way..Thanks

My daughter lives across the country from me & I have been ordered to pay also.....I called the ssi office, & there is a program specifically for this situation...they pay an amount determined by your dads amount....its already in its own account & not a penny comes from dads check.....you know the number 1-800-772-1213

Years ago noboby could collect off of anyone on SSI these days yes it comes directly out of their check & gets mailed 2 the mother of the child but once that child turns 18 ya can't collect no more not unless the child is handicapped then you collect 4 life I know cause I have my nephew & his Mom is on SSI & he gets a separte check from his mom it's not much but it helps & SSI sends that directly 2 Me.
