The trouble is, he is so upset he keeps getting stoned and drowning his sorrows. Should i just grit my teeth until he gets over it, or slate him for being so stupid?

well have a bit of sympathy for him its his first time i assume ?.. i dropped my phone in a glass of wine and it still worked ... took it out clubbing lost it and someone handed it in ... then last week dropped it in chicken fat ... i deserve to be slated , but the good news it is still works ... and the most important question is ... did he have insurance for it ?? if not be a nice owner and buy him a new phone for Xmas .... or boil the f*cka for being so stupid !!

Keep him away from the lobster pot and seaweed or he'll hit rock bottom. Don't shingle him out. Trawl the sails for a 40 squid oyster phone (although they may be in the hands of the receivers) or a shell phone on a good net work. He should snap out of it and stop drinking like a fish.

I would just grit your teeth until he gets over it. I have a two year old and the best way to allow them to get over their anger, sorrows or whatever is to ignore them!!!
