Definitely see if a doctor will provide a note stating why a loss of electricity would affect your wife. Next, I would see if any local food banks, churches, or school districts (if you have children in them) can help out. Try salvation army, st vincent de paul, department of social and health services. Call your utility company and ask them if they have any phone numbers for places that can help out. If your power is disconnected, you can see if any fire department has a generator they can loan you. Good luck!

Take a letter from your wifes doctor stating her need for continuous power and present it to the power co.. then work out a payment plan that is satisfactory to both of the parties.
