i think it's exaggerated quite a bit. whenever they talk it seems to be scripted, and why do they ALLL run back stage screaming crying and throwing themselves on the ground? it makes for good entertainment if you're bored i guess. i can't believe maury has stooped so low in his career..

I don't believe that Maury's show is fake or scripted...yet. But who needs actors when we've got people willing to make a fool of themselves for their fifteen minutes of fame, no matter what the cost (i.e.,their reputation, pride). The women and men who come to Maury for paternity tests also watch the show, and their idea of acceptable behavior is based on what previous guests on the show have done.

I think the women who throw hysterical temper tantrums hope the audience and viewers at home will be distracted from their stupidity and feel pity for them, rather than mock them for their ignorance of how conception works AND sleeping with 15 or more men unprotected. (However, I really doubt that many of these women had sex with 10,15 or more men in 48-72 hours or one week and the show encourages them to bring on men they slept with 3 to 6 months before they realized they were pregnant, under the guise of helping the woman identify the father.)

The men who appear on this show to deny paternity only care about looking "playa" to their friends watching back at home. Although I have to admit I also can't help but laugh at "Terrell" breakdancing, crip walking, and popping and locking in relief when he finds out he is "NOT the father." And when I heard one man say that the baby was too cute to be his, because he looked like a gorilla, I knew I had heard and seen it all.

This show is ridiculous, but it's also pretty darn entertaining. lol

Who knows. I think some of it might be fake, but some is real. Now Jerry Springer on the other hand is fake! Haha.

his paternity shows are pretty outrageous...i can't believe there are people that would actually go on national t.v. and make idiots of themselves....sometimes, i wonder if it is staged...are there really people that dumb out there?

I think it's real. And it's sad too that that many people don't know who their baby's daddy is.
