the world belongs to everyone, but those structures like country borders and rules are put in place because we need them...apparently.

I'm not sure about your immigrant question. On a global scale we're all local. Beings from outer space?
Sure we are "free" to do what we want with the environment, if we don't care about the results. Since we can damage the environment to the degree that we can no longer live in it, then are we actually "free" to do with it (harm it) as we please? If the goal is to live in a healthy way, we can only be as "free" with the environment as is possible while still maintaining a healthy environment.
As to holding dominion over all the animals, I think there is more than one way to look at what the bible says. According to Genesis, man violated God's directive(s) and as a result God told man he now had RESPONSIBILITY for the world and its creatures. As I've read it, that could very well mean that if we mess up the world, we will also pay the price for our mistakes and/or arrogance.
In the end, the world does not "belong" to human beings or any other single animal or creature. All of us share this home regardless of who owns or doesn't own it. If we mess it up, we have hurt our own ability to live in a healthy, long term (i.e. generations to come) manner.
Finally -
Since we are occupants of the Earth you could say we belong to it, or that it belongs to us. But that doesn't mean we are the only creatures/beings to have such a claim - or the ones with ultimate power. All we need is one really bad virus and we (humans) could all be history.

No... we may think that we have a right to do as we please because even without forest and other environmental landscapes we adapt others don't... In response to immigrants it depends on what you believe. Creationist... we would migrate from the region of the middle east. Evolution... we would have to move about from Africa where scientist believe the first form of man came from... I hope that was what you were looking for.

It's in the public domain.
Yes, since they are just people who go from one pre-defined nation to another, and nations as a concept indeed exist.
No, we're not.
No.
I'm not even going to bother with what the Bible is.

The world belongs to no-one. We as species belong to it (or her) and we are free to do with the environment as we please as long as it neither destroys nor disrespects other living creatures or the Earth herself.
The Bible is wrong and was written by a bunch of chauvinist supremacists who had no understanding of the concept of respect and nurturing.
