WIC stands for Women, Infants, and Children. It is a program to help encourage healty eating and nutrition awareness for mothers of children under 5. They give you voucher, that can be used at the grocery store of your choice. Each voucher is for a specific item. For example, 1 voucher for 2.5 gallons of milk. and 4 vouchers each with 4 cans of formula, cereal (only the brands WIC participates in, like KIX and Rice Krispies, etc). You get vouchers for milk or formula, cereal, beanut butter or beans, cheese, eggs, and a few other things. Check out the site below, it is the WIC site.

Hope this helps, BTW, it isn't like food stamps, almost all women with kids under 5 qualify.

for one wic does not give out bread. It helps mothers that can't afford formula for the infants. It supplies milk, cheese, cereal, eggs, and juice for pregnant women and children that are off of formula. You do get it for free but its not like food stamps. food stamps buys all of you food and you are dependent on them unlike wic it HELPS you with what you or your child needs.

It stands for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), and is a federal assistance program for healthcare and nutrition of low-income mothers and children under the age of five. This program is unrelated to the USDA's "Food Stamp" program.

these coupons help people with food items while pregnant and/or nursing. You usually get milk , cheese, cereal, and a few more things. Also when you start formula, they help pay for that too. Good program and very helpful. They monitor your childs growth too.
