She will be able to change her name on the account as long as the Judgment of Divorce restores her maiden name. If it is a joint account with her ex then she will need to close the account and open a new one.

If it is her own personal account I would have thought once she has reverted to her maiden name that there would be no problem in changing it back, and there should be no charge for doing so. It should not be necessary to have to close the account and open a new one.

Sure she can change her name on her account - just go through the court to change it legally. You don't have to close the account as long as the spouse gives up all rights to it.

Yes she will just need proof of id, and maybe the marriage certificate................When I did it I went and changed my drivers licence first, all they need to see was the marriage certificate.....................tell her to do this first as a drivers licence is the best form of id for bank accounts etc etc.....
A women has the right to change her name back to her maiden name at any time, as her maiden name is her legal name.

She must petition the court to change her name back when she gets her divorce. She can have it put in the divorce papers, I did. Just changing your name on the account won't work. When she gets her name officially changed, she will have to bring in papers to prove it to change it on her account. Bummer, but true.

She would have to have some sort of official paper saying that she changed her name.I know I couldn't change my name on my account to my married name until I showed them the marriage license.I'm sure it would be the same type of thing.
