The fact that most ppl try to be nicer and behave better around Christmas. My least favorite part of Christmas is the pressure to spend a lot of $ buying gifts. My family has a "secret Santa" arrangement-- each person gets one gift for one family member and one family member only. As a result, we make sure that everyone in the family has a present to open on Christmas morning and the available money can be spent on one nice gift for each person. I'm not saying that every family has to do it this way-- it just works for ours. I've heard of some families that don't exchange gifts-- they just buy one gift for the whole family (tv, a microwave, etc.).

My favorite part of Christmas actually occurs on Christmas Eve, when we celebrate the Feast of the Seven Fishes; it truly is the one time that we gather as a family. We put more emphasis on the value of family over the value of gifts. It’s a value that’s been passed down throughout the generations, something that more families could use.

I would have to say the my favorite part of x-mas is being able to try to figure out what gift to give to which friend and the fun of the "hunt" for the perfect gift, I also love to decorate the tree and get my place looking so nice for the holiday if for nobody else but me.

The music.
I enjoy the story of the humble birth of our Lord.
I thrill at the bright and colorful lights
The happy folks and cheerful greetings.
The presents are always graciously given and received. But I love the meaningful and joyful carols.
I especially enjoy the Boney M recording of Mary's Boy Child \ Oh My Lord.

when Christmas is over and things can get back to normal. the merchants just make it so hard for me to get into the Christmas mood when they start pushing Christmas sales before Halloween.

I don't have kids, so getting to watch my dog open his presents, and yes he does "open" them all by himself. We have to hide them in a closet until Christmas morning. He goes nuts, it is too funny. And of course, egg nog.
