"Forever" as they say is a long time. Would you really want to wake up one day and discover that the best years of your life have passed you by and yet you are still waiting? Would someone who truly loved YOU want you to waste your life? Yes we would wait - for a while, but everything has a sell by date. We human beings have a large capacity to love and like it or not you would move on and meet someone else. We were not meant to be alone. Don't wait too long!!

No I would not. For a relationship to work love has to be two ways. If you're special someone is apart from you for a good reason and phones, texts or writes every day then wait, but put a time limit on it. If they keep on making excusses for you not being together then it is obvious that you are less important to them then they are to you. Wait for a while and then go out and have fun and be free. The chances are that he will be doing just that.

In the past I would have said no. But in the past few months I realized that I still love my first love and I have been waiting for him all of my life, and I think I will be waiting for him for the rest of it. I got married thinking being best friends and having good sex was enough. Its not -- the connection and the butterflys - you need that for a real marriage. Otherwise what you have is a friendship with a roomate.

Now this one depends upon how you define "wait".. If I truly cared for a person above everything else (and there was an excellent reason why we couldnt be together now) then I would ...let the person know that I would wait..but I would also naturally "have to do whatever else I had to do"..In other words I'd wait, but would have to get on with living a normal life too...Hope that makes sense..,

I believe I answered one of your other questions about love. i would wait for my baby ( my boyfriend) forever. I do not know what I would do without him. It's all about patience. If he had to go away which there is a possibility because he is a marine, he knows that i will be here waiting for him, as long as it takes. love has to be strong and be able to get through all the things that will test your commitment. I would wait forever for him, all day and all night. Unfortunaelty, I have to wait months. and all i can do is pray. God Bless babe!

Took me about Three years to move on after the girl that I loved, and asked to marry me turned me down. But I realised eventually, that there was no point in waiting and moping about over what might have been.
I still think about her, and look at her photo now and again. She is a part of my life, and I cannot forget what she meant to me.
I love my wife and would not change anything, but when somebody means a great deal to you, you cannot just forget them completely.

This is a very romantic thought, but highly unlikely to happen.
If that person really loved you in the first place, "Why would they want you to wait?"I say they that would be the most selfish thing I think someone would ask someone to do.
