Why do they still send out their secret KGB cells to go and kill ex agents, does this not show they still are very much communists at heart clinging to old "Russian" ways of doing things and can never change ? Just put some radioactive plutonium or whatever on an umbrella or something and jab the ex agent in Britain or poison a Government opposition party offical, that will sort it out !

I dont agree with that aviator, corruption and culture are two different yet intertwined things, who do you know in the states or u.k whom poisoned a member of the opposition during an election campaign ? I never heard of it. It has nothing to do with corruption ! its their way, always has been probably always will be.

you have to make distinctions between political leadership and society in the post-soviet Russia. all these recent events are the result of the power struggle at the very top. Russians would love to live in the modern society with the developed capitalist institutions, enjoying the benefits of economic growth and international cooperation. of course, they have big problems with adopting social and political culture of the western societies.

Their economy has pretty much collapsed because of no industrial sector. This is why all these little countries segregated themselves from their mother Russia.

It's all corrupt corporations, and the people that lack the educational standard, have to go elsewhere to find work.

The Russians are very industrious people. I worked with two of them in my machine shop. They will first have to rebuild their economy before they can transition to a capitalist economy, which, I hope they never do.

It's why they come here looking for industrial jobs.

The exhaustion of our industrial sector could greatly mirror what has happened in Russia.

Globalization has hurt them as well as it has hurt us. Both of our economies are not that different from each others. However, Russia is presently where America will be, one day.

Killing ex-agents has nothing to do with the way they run their country. Communist and Democratic countries do things like this. I think what you mean to say is that they are still corrupt when they claim not to be.

they embrace capitalism in the market .. having the rights we take for granted ... the pursuit of happiness. Which they didn't under communist rule ... have to stand in lines for days to get a pair of shoes then to find out it wasn't the size they needed or the color... The communist are never anyone's friend ... it's life without G-d, keeping church and state separate. Something to ponder on, huh.
