I agree with Frank. If it's magnetized, then it will probably be because you put big speakers near the monitor. However, I don't think it's such a problem.

I think, that your problem is because your monitor cable is not well put/stuck in the Graphics Card slot. So try to confirm that it's well put in it, so that you make sure that all the pins are connected.

Also it could be that the monitor jack itself is torn inside, you will have to ask for a computer engineer to replace it for you.

I dont think the purple hue on the monitor is anything to do with the new graphic card.. It looks like its been magnetised,It might have caused if you kept some sort of magnet next to it. You would have to de-magnetize it.

A simple trick that i use it to turn off the computer and monitor and keep the monitor on the side facing down for about 30mns or so and check again. If this increases the purple hue you would have to keep it on the other side facing down. It really depends on what side you see the purple hue.

This trick fixed the same problem on my monitor quiet a few times... hope it helps
