Bass and catfish are both predatory fish, and as such will eat almost anything meaty they can fit in their mouth. Feeder goldfish, guppies or rosie reds from a pet store would be a better choice than minnows from a bait store, due to the lower chance of introducing a disease. Worms are a good food for either, but don't put to many in as they will hide if they get the chance and end up fouling the water. You can also buy a good quality pellet food from a pet store that would be a good staple for either. One thing to check is if it is legal to own either of these fish where you live, since the bass is for sure a game fish and the catfish might be.

a fresh water bass is just that a fresh water fish that only lives in none polluted lakes and streams, this is why they are so good to eat....the bass is a predator fish, meaning hunts and eats live or what they think is live bait or food....now the catfish is a scavenger fish,,meaning eats thngs off the bottom of the lake, dead fish...almost like a volture of the lake...lol...this in my oppenone is why i dont care to eat the catfish.....they also can live in semi polluted lakes and streams...but catfish fixed right and cleaned right makes a good meal...but takes alot of time...
