When talking about erosion, you usually mean soil erosion. You hear about it alot along coastal regions where the ocean and storms and wind do the most damage. Over logging hillsides can cause extensive damage and soil can be lost when it rains really hard. People have learned to terrace plant on hillsides to prevent erosion. You can also see smooth rocks in streambeds or oceans that have been warm smooth from erosion over many years. I hope this helps you.

Most erosion is water or wind generated. Erosion occurs along river banks, flood palins, and open unplanted soil. Sadly, the most erosion happening right now is in the tropics where large corporations are clearcutting the forests and not replanting new trees. If you read about the 1930's you will know that the whole of the northern plains suffered a drought, and more than half the soil blew away in the strong winds. The grand canyon is the biggest and most magnificent place where erosion has occured. All those valleys and gorges were cut out by the rubbing action of the colorado river and its tributaries.

Erosion is the displacement of solids (soil, mud, rock and other particles) by the agents of wind, water or ice, by downward or down-slope movement in response to gravity or by living organisms (in the case of bioerosion). Erosion is distinguished from weathering, which is the decomposition of rock and particles through processes where no movement is involved, although the two processes may be concurrent.
Erosion is an intrinsic natural process but in many places it is increased by human land use. Poor land use practices include deforestation, overgrazing, unmanaged construction activity and road or trail building. However, improved land use practices can limit erosion, using techniques like terrace-building and tree planting.

erosion occurs mostly where the agents of erosion are dominant. for example, wind erosion occurs where a lot of wind blows and sweeps away the soil. also ther e is gully erosion i think caused by water that flows mostly on steep hills with speed so they wash away soil and then you get u'r erosion.

Erosion is a process of denudation of earth by natural forces. these forces are mainly, stream, oceanic currents, winds, glaciers etc. by the mov of water or wind or that of ice the grain size of stones/rocks while they move. erosion is most visible on sea shores rivers and in desserts also. grand canyon is a classsical strem erosion example. messsa and butte in utah national park is a good example for windd erosion.

erotion mostly occores when wind or water are so fierce that it actually breaks down a solid.
Examples:
Smooth pebbles
why? because the wind or water have rubbed against it for a while and the rough edges become really smooth.
2/ The Grand Canyon
why? Because in this case pretty much only wind has blown so hard that it has formed the Grand Canyon

erosion occurs wherever the ground is exposed to weather(wind, rain and temperatures)
erosion is the wearing down of the ground by natural forces.
water will wash away soil, cause particles to rub against each other and dissolve minerals in the rocks. wind will carry away particles and cause them to rub against each other.
heat and cold will cause rocks to crack and split.
when water gets into cracks in rocks the extreme cold weather will cause it to freeze and to break up the rocks.
