all you get from philosophy is knowledge...
you will only achieve wisdom once you use that knowledge-
wether it worked out right or not.

Hey Leuroth,

You get out of Philosophy what you put into it, like most things.

According to American Heritage Dictionary, Philosophy is the "Love and pursuit of wisdom by intellectual means and moral self-discipline..."

I think this is a most valuable skill for life. Read "The art of Motorcycle Maintenance", where the study of Philosophy without an example as an analogy drives the main character literally crazy.

Much of what is learned in philosophy can be applied in virtually any endeavor. This is both because philosophy touches on so many subjects and, especially, because many of its methods are usable in any field.

Critical thinking, learning how to broaden the horizons of your thinking, objectivity, examining issues dispassionately, understanding your mind and the world better. Philosophy is the undergirding for all the sciences. To enter Law, politics and of course philosophy you must study philosophy.
