I bought a bunch of stuff, took it home, and several hours later opened the box to one of the phones. Then I discovered that the phone has a bit of liquid in the display, causing the screen to appear distorted :(

Since the phone operates perfectly, my guess is that this water is probably the result of being in a humid environment.

I went to Cingular to return the phone and that's when I discovered their powers! They explained to me that it is impossible fo them to have sold me a damaged phone. They test their phones AND sometimes even LOOK at them to see it they are damaged. SO, they never ever sell one that's damaged!

I wanted to know how this process works, so I asked, "How can you be sure nothing happens to them from where they are tested to the store? Do you bring them to the store in humidity-controled trucks and then store them in a humidity-controled room?"

No, they don't! They must be magically protected because NOT ONE PHONE EVER had been damaged!

That is Amazing! Maybe you should see if they can use those powers to remove the phone from their @ss. Now that would be a trick. Good luck.

It relies on your cell. You can cross to the Cingular/AT&T internet site and spot if they have got a web based guide on your detailed cell. Mine will do this, too, however the directions for turning it off on mine could also be one of a kind from yours. I have a Nokia 6102i and I can flip off the "aid textual content activation" underneath the Phone Settings menu.

I seriously doubt they test every phone that is funneled through that store. If they do not exchange your phone, ask for a manager. If they still won't, contact the CEO (most CEOs have a department to handle escalations).

If that still doesn't work - www.bbb.org.

Good luck!

Look to see if you had one of those little gel packs in your box. You know the one that is supposed to absorb moisture. If it's missing, that'd prob be why/how this happened.
