It is not true, and I am probably one of the very few people who is in a position to tell you with any degree of authority, as I had the snip-n-trim when I was nineteen.

That's not quite an accurate statement. It is true that circumcision will decrease sensation in the penis because sensation is relative to how many nerves are in the area. The foreskin has a lot of nerves and when those nerves are cut away, sensation decreases. Sensitivity, however, is something more mental. It's different from person to person and if all a circumcised guy knows is a circumcised penis, then his definition of sensitive is different from an uncircumcised guy's sensitive. This also helps to explain why many men in the US suffer from premature ejaculation, even the majority of men are circumcised. Sensitivity is relative.
Outside medical necessity circumcision has no real benefits provided that the foreskin is working properly and well taken care of (aka, good hygiene, which involves pulling back the foreskin once a day and cleaning underneathe with water and mild soap during a shower). The claim that being circumcised is my hygienic is largely null and void if a person has good hygiene anyway.
Some studies have claimed that being circumcised lowers infections and STDs, including HIV. But there are studies saying the exact opposite so it's really up in the air (see first 2 links for more info).
The last three links are just some general info about circumcision. Some tend to be more biased than others, but decide for yourself if the data makes sense or not. A common error in statistics and data interpretation: correlation is not the same thing as causation.

It is true that circumcised men do lose some sensitivity, wether it is the 40-60% that you have said I have no way of knowing. To those who claim that it is cleaner to be cut,all I can say is that for me it is not a problem to clean myself when I have a shower,I do not have any offensive smells from my groin and as for the claim that it is a cheese factory by pain sux I can only say that you must have exceptionally bad taste in boyfriends,in more ways than one, where do you find them,at the down and outs, street sleepers and winos community?I am quite happy with all that I was born with and am satisfied that Mother Nature intended for it to be there and not hacked off in the name of religion or dubious hygienic benefits.

I doubt it is 60%, but there is a slight lessening of sensation, according to my circumcised bf. The advantage is that in theory, the circumcised man should be able to last longer.

OK - I am FED up with these anti circ statements
to your first question is NO men do not lose 40% - 60% of the sexual sensitivity or pleasure -
I can speak with some authority as I was only circed for medical reasons at age 28 & rather reluctantly as was my EX girlfriend who was also reluctant
I used to wash my penis under my foreskin & it'd still smell 1/2 an hour later....
The advantages circed men have are
No smegma
I've expereinced more intense orgasms
no foreskin in the zipper of jeans
my ex girlfriend thought it felt bigger circumcised
My ex gave me oral more often as there was less to no smell
I can pee straight with no foreskin in the way
no pubes getting inbetween my foreskin making it uncomfortable
so way more benefits being circed. Trust me I know both ways
By the way the pain ain't that bad

I can categorically say that sex after circumcision is 10 times better than before circumcision. Don't listen to tales. Honestly.

There's enough sexual pleasure where most men NEED TO LOSE 90 per cent, so 40 to 60% is really not enough to lose. That's one answer, but it's really not even true, your theory.
Circumcision is a wise choice. Stop being obsessed with the senses.

this is a difficult question, since almost all of us that are circumcised, where circumcised when we were babys, so we dont have something to compare with.
but I can tell you that my sensitivity is pretty good
advantage?
easier to clean

COMPLETELY FALSE
NO medical or physiological study has proved that circumcision reduces sensitivity, opposed to common belief. It is completely FALSE that circumcision reduces penis sensitivity. The American Academy of Paediatrics (AAP) confirms this on their web site; have a look at: http://www.aap.org/pubed/zzzjzmemh4c.htm
Most women prefer a man with a circumcised penis because it may move inside them in a less friction-based manner. Once he is inside the vagina, the unhooded penis may easily slide up and down to create pleasure for both partners.
