We want change, but then when we get it, we don't want it, because we fear it.

people tend to enjoy the status quo, and it becomes a comfort zone. the gain an unhealthy fear of the unknown...............a sort of the Devil you know is better than th angel you don't know. Consider Newton's Laws of Motion ( a universal law and principle) whcih may aptly apply in this case

First law :
Every object continues in a state of rest or of unifrom motion (in a straight line at constant speed) unless acted upon by an external, unbalanced force.

Second law
The rate of change of momentum of a body is proportional to the resultant force acting on the body and is in the same direction.
(the more and harder you push it through, the greater and faster the change - not always true as u could cause a revolt)

Third law
To every action (force applied) there is an equal and opposite reaction (equal force applied in the opposite direction).
Another way of stating Newton's third law, an interaction between two objects, is that, if object A exerts a force on object B, object B will exert the same magnitude force on A, but in the opposite direction.
(people will always resist change, so it must be psuhed through anyhow)

It's always hard to leave our comfort zones. We get so used to the same things over and over and get accustomed to it, that anything new would just mess it all up and we get scared. I know that myself going from a divorce to dating again to possible future marriage. I am scared of getting married again though I know the person well enough to know things are going to last. It's just I have got accustomed to the single life after married for 5 years. We just have to take the time and sit and think how change is going to be better for us so it makes it easier for us to handle when change comes.

it biological. We have been conditioned since cavemen days that what is known is safe, the unknown can kill you.
this is true still today to a point- unknown people, animals, foods, ect can be a threat. but a lot more is known so the risk is minimal.
As far as Maslow's Hierachy of needs goes saftey is very important and its been proven that people like patterns

because it takes a while to accept things that are new to us..but as we move on with our lives we learn to adjust and move on. i myself have been going through changes lately but i know that life is a gift for us from above. my father once told me that the world doesnt evolve around me which means we should not be conscious of ourselves .change for the better to help yourself then later on help others .that's what it's all about

Because it is different than our "normal" routines and it may affect our life as a whole. Takes us out of a "comfortable zone" and pushes us to learn, try, and explore new ways instead of what we all ready know. Habits are hard to break!
