I could watch Top Gun a million times. He was 21 and adorable. Though, I liked Minority Report and Vanilla Sky as well for depth and plot twist.

Cocktail and The Color of Money were entertaining and fun
If you really want to see him in a small role as a teenager, there's always The Outsiders or All the Right Moves.

Still, however, one of his best films was Born on the Fourth of July. Awesome war movie.

1. The Last Samurai - tom tests himself in this movie. there's not as much action as say the MI series, but the actions sequences are more detailed in my opinion.
2. MI: 2 - again, tom pushes himself in the relm of action movie. sure, the plot wasn't all that, in my opinion, but the action in this movie makes up for it.
3. Jerry McGuire - tom takes a shot at comedy. it's a good thing that he was surrounded by good comedy actors (cuba gooding jr., renea zellweger (sorry spelling)). it's nice to watch him with the kid. and yes, the "you had me at hello" scene make me swoon too.
4. A Few Good Men - the story is a good one. tom does a good job portraying his character. this is one film that i can honestly say i can't seen anyone else playing that part.
5. Born on the 4th of July - a must see. tom really put himself out there early in his career with this character. he starts out as the pretty boy but ends as life marked man. i was actually surprised by him in this film. even my mother liked it.
6. Legend - i love this movie. it's not my number one because i only like it for the story. anyone other than tom cruise could have played this role, but he did a very good job.
7. Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles - tom gets to me in this one. i have a fear of vampire movies and he only added to my fear in this movie (as did brad pitt). he does well with his character.
8. Minority Report - ok, this is science fiction, which i'm not always into, but it was intriguiging (spelling). the story is good enough to keep your attetion. spielberg (spelling) does fine at directing. tom is interesting.
9. War of the Worlds - tom is hilarious and entertaining in this film. i say hilarious because of dakota fanning. there's just something about the two acting opposite each other. he's just so laughing helpless as their dad, but he does try. this movie should probably be in my top five, but for me it's just missing something. i'll have to watch it again and maybe update my list hahahahaha.
10. Vanilla Sky - this one makes the list because i sometimes am in the mood for a movie in which i have no idea what is going on. you know, one of those movies that makes such poor since that you just have to watch it to the end. it's does keep your attention. through the whole thing you're thinking to yourself that there has to be a point somewhere. then you reach the ending.

hope that helps!
