You only need three things, and one answer is correct here. Don't run multiple virus tools at once. Uninstall everything in the control panel where you "Add or Remove Programs."
FIRST AND FOREMOST get updates, DISCONNECT from the Web, restart and run again!!! THIS is the ONLY way to ensure you are clean.
When you run these, you MUST BE OFFLINE, AND you need to restart the computer WHILE the programs are running. OTHERWISE, they sometimes can not be removed. Don't use AVG free edition because it miss way too many virus. Avast is a little better but it used up a lot of resources on your pc and will slow it down. The best one is Avira Antivirus. Here's the link: http://www.free-av.com/
For Antispyware you can have more than one running on your pc. I would recommend Microsoft Window Defender, Spyware Blaster, Spybot Search&Destroy, A-Squared.

Hi, you can only use one antivirus program. Or else you will have serious conflict with your system. You can use three or four antispyware plus one good firewall.

free virus software is at www.avast.com. Avoid avg. it misses too many things.
Free spyware software is adaware or spybot at www.download.com. These will need to be run manually from time to time.
