There are three primary colors; you have those correct---blue, yellow, red.

The primary colors are Red, Blue and Yellow. From those three you can make any color in the spectrum.
If you're talking about printers, it's different because they're designed to replicate color from different sets: Red, Blue and Green (RGB) or Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK).

If you're trying to paint, then yes, mix white paint with red paint. The more red you mix, the pinker it is!
But are you thinking of ROYGBP...red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple?
The is something called CMYK which is cyan, magenta, yellow & black.

If you will use alizarin crimson as your base and add a smidge of white you will get a very brignt pink but for the "hot" effect you need special additives. Unfortunately I can't remember the name or where to get them. Sorry.
